Fashion designer and former Big Brother Africa (BBA) contestant, Elikem Kumordzie has warned South Africans to desist from killing other Africans in the latest round of xenophobic attacks. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, September 4, the fashion designer cum actor who fumed about the attacks said the uncalled-for action of South Africans will see reprisal attacks against their nationals living in other African countries.“Action will be taken soon by all of us equally against South Africans living in our land too,” he said.Elikem pointed out that the attacks do not augur well for the peace and unity being championed by African leaders and cautioned the South Africans to be careful since they could not survive on their own without the support of other Africans.“But then again what will that cause, a division in Africa, when we are supposed to stand as one against the world? Unity is supposed to be key. I promise you that even if West Africa and the rest of Africa leave South Africa, the rest will not be able to get their lazy asses up to do anything worthwhile.“I lived in South Africa for three months on two different occasions. I experienced how the Southern Africans in the Big Brother house didn’t like our guts and wanted us out,” he continued.Backlash against the xenophobic attacks has been massive with influential personalities across the continent condemning it.Currently, there are reports that countries such as Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Malawi have pulled out of the World Economic Forum in South Africa.Zambia has also called off its friendly match with South Africa in protest of the xenophobic attacks while African showbiz personalities like Burna Boy have vowed not to go to South Africa.Singer, Tiwa Savage, has announced that she has pulled out of the DStv Delicious concert scheduled for later this month.
