Access Bank has taken steps to make banking easier and more convenient for the physically-challenged as part of its contribution to the bid to integrate such persons into the social system.
The bank in this bid has launched a book “Sign Language Made Easy” to assist the public in communicating with the hearing-impaired.
This is an initiative of the employees as part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
Managing Director of the bank Dolapo Ogundimu, said Access Bank will continue to model their business in manner which generates responsible growth because they understand the basic challenges facing communities where they operate.
“The publication of the Sign Language Made Easy’ is yet another demonstration of the bank’s continuous commitment investing in education, health and social welfare initiatives,” he said.
Proceedings from the book will be used to build a dormitory for the State School for the Deaf at Ashaiman in Accra.
Headmaster of the school, Michael Cudjoe was thankful to the workers, and pledged the school’s commitment to ensure the assistance will be effectively utilized for the good of the students.
Copies of the book will be made available at the various bookshops across the country.
