An aide to Nana Konadu Apraku former Trades and Industry Minister and a prospective 2016 New Patriotic Party flagbearer says the party must do all it can to come to power in 2016 to, among other things, open up their chances of winning educational scholarships to further their education.
Ahmed Ousman is sweating under what he refers to as discrimination in the award of educational scholarship.
"What we need now is power. Somebody who can deliver the trophy for us. We need power . In this country if your party is not in power you lose. Some of us, we even applied to do some courses but because our party is not in power [we were turned down.]" he told host of the Ekosii sen programme on Asempa FM Monday.
When the host asked if he was looking to return to power with the ambition of furthering his education, Ousman said: "There is nothing wrong with that because when you apply for a scholarship in this country and you are not affiliated to the NDC, you don't get it," he added.
The Special Aide to Konadu Apraku was reacting to comments made by Dr Amoako Tufuor on who is best fit to lead the NPP in 2016.
Tufuor has not hidden his fondness for Akufo-Addo and has said the 2012 NPP candidate will have questions to answer from God if he decides not to contest the 2016 elections.
But Ahmed Ousman thinks otherwise. He is convinced beyond doubts that Konadu Apraku is the best man to lead the NPP
He swore on his word that Apraku will be the man leading the NPP in the next election adding the party will look beyond the and pick a man with the competence and capacity to win an election and steer the affairs of the country.
"If you go to play a football match and you field a goal keeper and you lost; the next match you field the same goal keeper and you lost, the third time will you do same?" he asked.
He says the party needs power and the person to deliver that power is Konadu Apraku.
