Nana Katakyie Kwasi Afful II, Benkumhene of the Sefwi Bekwai traditional area is the proud winner of the “Easy Access Promo” by Access Bank.
The elated chief known in private life as Francis Buabeng took home the sleek Hyundai ix35 car grand prize at a short ceremony in Accra Tuesday.
Nana Katakyie Kwasi Afful II, a customer at the Sefwi Wiawso branch of Access Bank was full of praise for bank.
According to him, as a new customer who only opened a personal account with the bank in October, 2013, he least expected to be the ultimate winner of the Hyundai ix35 car.
“I had no idea that I had been entered into the Easy Access Promo even though I received notification on my phone with an electronic voucher. I didn’t believe in lottery and never paid attention to the messages I received on my phone. So I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call last week that I had won the ultimate prize, I had to quickly call my branch manager to confirm I had actually won. This is truly fantastic!”.
Aside Nana Katakyie Kwasi Afful II who won the ultimate prize, 39 other winners in the also took away exciting prizes including generators sets, LED TVs, smart phones, DVD players and lots of other exciting prizes.
This brings to 100 the total number of lucky customers rewarded in the “Easy Access Promo” in the grand draw and two mini-draws held in Tamale and Kumasi.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Access Bank Ghana, Dolapo Ogundimu said “the Easy Access Promo had lived up to its promise of promoting financial inclusion and deepen the savings culture in Ghana by rewarding loyal customers for their patronage”.
According to him, Access Bank will leverage on its new business and personal banking strategies to offer a breath of fresh air and satisfaction in the retail and SME market space in 2014.
“SMEs constitute about 70 percent of the enterprises in Ghana and part of our plan is to give them entrepreneurial and managerial skills set to ensure that they grow their businesses in such a way as to contribute to the larger Ghanaian economy. We also want to improve the economic fortunes of women, through our Gender Empowerment model. We will single out women entrepreneurs for support to help create wealth in that segment our economy” he noted.
Mr. Ogundimu said these initiatives will be supported among other things by:
- New technology driven products including an online platform that will be first in that realm.
- Increased network of branches.
- Strategic alliances with International Development Organizations to deliver the utmost customer service.
Head of Business Promotions at the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Ekow Incoom, commended Access Bank for the manner in which they have organized the promotion.
He saidthe Bank’s systems worked perfectly during the period, especially with the electronic sms vouchers to customers and the integrity of the data for selecting qualifying customers.
Also present at the event was Mr. Jihad Jihazi, MD of Auto Plaza as well as cherished customers, and staff of the bank.
