The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has forwarded the Sibton Switch case to the relevant government agencies for criminal investigations.
JoyBusiness understands all the necessary documents covering investigations done by the central bank would be handed over to the necessary security agency for criminal investigations and prosecution.
The central bank on Friday dismissed one of its officials, Gilbert Addy, for gross misconduct in relation to corrupt transactions and for accepting bribes in connection with the award of a contract to Sibton Switch Systems Limited in 2016.
A source said the action taken by the regulator demonstrates BoG’s commitment to ensure that anyone caught in “questionable dealings” are not only sacked but “dealt with”.
The source said it also shows that ongoing investigations would not excuse anyone, not even one of its own.
