Bahmed Travel and Tours has officially signed an agreement with airline giants Emirates to airlift 2,000 soccer fans to Brazil for the next year’s June World.
The short yet colourful ceremony which took place at the latter’s office in Accra will see Ghanaian fans being entitled to 1,500 slots, while the remaining 500 allocation will go to fans from neighboring Burkina Faso, Benin and Togo.
An affordable fee of $5,800 which will include visa, accommodation, internal transport and breakfast would be charged for the entire World Cup season.
Emirates Manager, Ghana, commercial Hendrick Du Preez in a press conference revealed that the initiative was part of his side’s culture of bringing people together.
“As the official FIFA World Cup airline company, we are hoping to take as many fans as possible to Brazil and we trust this healthy relationship will soar higher. My only advice to prospective fans is that they apply on time to avoid rush,” said Preez.
Bahmed travels CEO Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh indicated that “a Committee would soon be set to handle all travel arrangements; specific roles would be assigned to members as there would be those who will handle finances that will accrue to the travel accounts.”
“As we speak, we have made giant strides regarding accommodation, travel arrangements, internal transports and all that. So I believe that those 2000 soccer fans that will go to Brazil on our ticket will have a very exciting tournament” he said.
