A tipper truck has collided with a private car on the White Volta Bridge in Yepei resulting in both vehicles and their occupants being on fire.
The incident occurred Wednesday in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah region.

The four occupants of the private car, Toyota Carina with registration number GE 4126 – 11, burnt to ashes.
However, the driver of the tipper truck with registration number 2160 – F, escaped unscathed.
According to the Assemblyman for Yapei electoral area, Seidu Salifu Badaw, the tipper truck was coming from Tamale to Buipe and Toyota Carina was coming from Kumasi to Yapei.

Recounting what happened he said: “there was a head-on collision just closer to the bridge where there is a sharp curve.”
Badaw added that “at the sharp curve there are uncompleted speed ramps which every driver tries to avoid and that is where the accident occurred.”
Police and military personnel were on hand to provide security.
