Africa World Airlines (AWA), a domestic and regional operator, has pledged continuous support for foster homes and other institutions for the deprived in the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of AWA, Mr. Michael Luo Cheng made the pledge when he presented assorted items to the Christ Faith Foster Home, on behalf of the Hainan-AWA Foundation.
The foster home is located at Frafraha in Accra.
“Hainan-AWA Foundation is the benevolent foundation of AWA and our partner Hainan Airlines to support the less privileged and those in need in places we operate”, Mr Luo Cheng stated.
He said the year 2014 would also see similar gestures from the foundation.
The items donated by the Foundation included bags of rice, sugar, gallons of oil, soft drinks, diapers and toiletries.
The Christ Faith Foster Home has 35 inmates. They include eight girls and twenty-seven boys between the ages of 7 and 19 years.
The foster home also runs a basic school for inmates and other children within its catchment area. The home depends largely on charity.
