Several musician bodies are to jointly hold a special remembrance gathering for the late hi-life legend Dr Paa Bobo who died on December 28.
The musician, born Kwaku Agyapong Danemah in 1951, died while on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was being treated for lungs and liver complications.
Eight musician bodies - the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO), Veteran Musicians Association of Ghana (VEMAG), Association of Music Right Owners (AMRO), Professional Musicians Union Association of Ghana (PROMAG), GAPI-Ghana Association of Phonographic Industry, Easyway Music Productions and Music Council of Ghana, are organizing the event in collaboration with Madam Janet Paa Bobo, wife of the late musician.
The event is expected to attract some key personalities in the Ghanaian entertainment industry and fans of the late musician.
The remembrance event comes off at the Odorgonor Secondary School, Awoshie, Accra and according to the bodies.
The musician bodies said in a statement that the event is only a remembrance gathering for Dr Paa Bobo, who until his death was the Vice Chairman of the Veteran Musicians Association of Ghana.
According to the statement, the actual one-week celebration of the late musician will come off on January 11 at Akim Maase in the Eastern region.
