Former Ghana FA chairman Lepowura MND Jawula says goalkeeper Fatau Dauda should be overlooked for the 2014 World Cup if his inconsistency at club levels continues.

The former Ashanti Gold goalkeeper has played second fiddle to Senzo Meyiwa since he joined South African side Orlando Pirates in the PSL.

With the World Cup barely six months away in Brazil, Fatau has accepted that the stakes are high for a place for both club and country and has hired Black Stars trainer Nassam Yakubu to improve his game with the South African PSL on break.

But Alhaji Jawula believes undergoing strenuous exercises will not help but rather get much playing time or forget going to the World Cup

“If Fatau Dauda don’t get much playing time it will be too risky to put him there, we have watched his performances and how he handles sticky situations, he gets into a bit of trouble and yes he might be a training horse but he is not match fit and that can a problem and on a bad day that could lead to serious disaster for Ghana,” he told Joy sports

“Fatau Dauda I like and love him very much but in the larger Ghanaian interest I think we have other alternatives, Adam Kwaresey is there we should make bold to do what is right.

“Kwarasey is the captain of his team in Norway, last year he was given a lot of honours within the Norwegian league and so I think we should be bold to put him where he deserves.”
