WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over WBA #12 Osumanu Adama (22-3, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Salles des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco. 85:1 favorite Golovkin dropped Adama at the end of round one. Golovkin continued to stalk Adama in rounds two and three.
Adama had his best moments in round five when he connected with a good shots, however Golovkin punished him late in the round. Golovkin dropped Adama again in round six but Adama survived the round.
Another knockdown early in the seventh and referee Luis Pabon waved it off shortly after. Time was 1:20. That’s 16 straight KOs now for Golovkin.
