FIFA has confirmed Maceio as Ghana’s camp base for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Ghana, who will be participating in her third successive World Cup tournament, was among the 32 camp bases officially released by FIFA for the competition.
Maceio, the capital and largest city of the coastal state Alagoas, is a typical tropical area known for its range of beautiful water bodies providing a must-visit destination for most tourists.
It experiences warm to hot temperatures as well as high relative humidity all throughout the year which is similar to Natal, Fortaleza and Brasilia where Ghana would be playing its three Group G games.
Ghana’s group opponents, Germany, settled for Santa Cruz Cabralia while Portugal and the USA chose Campinas and Sao Paulo respectively.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks off on the 12th of June at the 68, 000 capacity Arena Corinthians Stadium in Sao Paulo with host, Brazil, taking on Croatia.
