Kotobabi 5 primary school emerged winners of the Omo Fantastic five challenge over the weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium .A concept developed by Unilever Ghana Limited to bring to light, the benefits associated with the philosophy, of allowing children the freedom to explore the world through play.
The Kotobabi lads performed exceptionally well with team mate Enoch Otu emerging as a the Goal king with 5 goals as well as the Most Valuable Player of the Fantastic 5 football challenge.
The 8 finalist K.5 Primary School and Tema Regular Baptist School from the Tema, British International School and Jack and Jill school from Accra. Salem Educational complex and St. Lisberth International school from the Ashanti Region, and Queen of Peace Academy and St. Peter’s school from Takoradi, battled it out with 13 games.
Before the Grand finale , the teams were given a taste of celebrity where they had a face to face interaction with the media in a press conference session to articulate their experiences with the Omo fantastic 5 Football challenged.
In answer to a question whether the team will be genuinely sent to Brazil to witness the World Cup, Mr. Clarence Nartey, The Brand Building Director Unilever Ghana reiterate that, the Team will be captured on their journey and experience to Brazil and playback for all to witness.
All 10 teammates and their coach will be sent to Brazil to witness the live the 2014 world cup. The Category Manager Ms. Sylvia Acquah stated that, the project is about unearthing talents in children through play, learning and development.
This has been at the center of the brand philosophy over the last decade, she stressed the Omo believe play offers children the platform to express the talent that is with-in-them and by so doing learn lessons that will last them a lifetime and ultimately lead to successes tomorrow.
