Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda believes he is still capable of manning the post of the Black Stars despite his lack of playing time at club level.
Fatau, since moving to Orlando Pirates six months ago, only made his debut in the South African Premier league last Sunday in their game against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The former Ashanti Gold goalie’s lack of playing time at Pirates has fuelled suggestions for coach Kwasi Appiah to overlook him for the World Cup.
But in an exclusive interview with Joy sports Fatua noted he is capable of keeping the post for the Black Stars at the World Cup and insists he has not lost form.
“Somebody can be playing week in week out but when it comes to the national team may be he can’t play, goalkeeping is about learning, you train and you learn and the performance is not like remote whereby you come and stand on the pitch for somebody to control you,” said Dauda
“You can train but when it comes to the game you can’t play so for me I will only loose form if I stop keeping.
“I will only loose form if I hang my gloves because I’m training and learning so why should I lose form.”
The confident goalie's position in the Black Stars comes under threat after Aduana's golkeeper Stephen Adams excelled in the CHAN and as a result fanatics are now calling for his inclusion for Brazil 2014.
