The chiefs and people of Ayaase Bepoben, in conjunction with Twifo Mampong Peter Anne school complex, have honoured Mr Abraham Odoom, Deputy Minister of Health, for his contribution towards the development of Twifo Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District.
Two British volunteers, Mr Peter Hinchciffe and Mrs Anne Dixon who taught in the school for four years, were also honoured.
In a citation Mr Kenneth Amponfi, proprietor of the school, described Mr Odoom as an outstanding citizen of the district and that through his efforts the Bepoben-Ayaase road had been constructed and the district connected to the national electricity grid.
He said Mr Odoom’s faithfulness, truthfulness and kindness in politics had exposed the name of Twifo Bepobeng and Ayaase to the rest of the world.
Mr Amponfi said the two volunteers helped to build an ICT laboratory for the school and made available a 10-year scholarship for 24 brilliant but needy children in the school.
He said the two assisted to build three classrooms as well as a five-seat KVIP toilet for the school.
Mr Odoom commended the people of Bepoben Ayaase for honouring him and appealed to them to demonstrate their love during the 2008 general election by voting for him.
He said the district has reached a stage where the politics of lies and deceit should give way to development.
