Ghanaians particularly Christians have been asked to instil greater spirit of patriotism as the nation celebrates its golden jubilee. This will help boost the economic status of the nation.
The Parish Priest of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Very Rev. Francis Adoboli made the call at the launch of the church's Silver jubilee at Abelenkpe.
Rev. Adoboli noted that it is by divine call that the celebration coincided with the nation"s golden jubilee.
This he said should motivate Christians to re-strategize in their evangelism mission. He said the church is currently constructing a new church building at a cost of 1.5b.
Rev. Adoboli said as the theme "Arise and Shine,” suggests, Ghanaians should make it a point to shine in every endeavour.
He said it is a sole responsibility for Ghanaians to pray to intercede on behalf of the nation towards the golden jubilee celebration.
He said out of the programme lined up for the celebration, the church will visit some orphanages; rehabilitation centres as well as organize house-to-house evangelism to win souls for Christ.
The Chairman of the Parish Pastoral Council, Major-General Anthony Twumasi said the church has been through a lot for the past 25 years and this calls for celebration and thanks giving to God.
He thanked benevolent organizations for their support in the construction of a new church building.
