Seven Vietnamese women have been rescued from a Chinese human trafficking group in Takoradi in the Western region earlier today.
The trafficking group led by Hwan Se Hui, 49, allegedly promised to send the women to US to work in a factory but that was not to be.
The seven women aged between 31 and 38 were rather kept in a Guest House in Takoradi from where they were used as prostitutes, Joy News' Kweku Owusu Peprah reported.
The women had been in town since last year and the police have been tracking their activities.
The human trafficking unit of the Police Service on Wednesday raided the Guest house at Anaji in Takoradi and arrested the women and their trafficker.
The suspect together with his accomplice, said to be a woman, are currently in police custody.
The victims according Peprah are expected to be taken to Accra for onward deportation to Vietnam after investigations.
