President John Mahama and a determined parade braved the weather to celebrate Independence day last Thursday.
Despite heavy downpour lasting over three hours, the President inspected a parade of security forces with the moral support of a packed independence square.
Nobody remembers an Independence day celebration so severely threatened by the weather.
But we overcame a poor weather to celebrate 57 years of Independence.
If we can just do what we have to do
If public officials can just solve problems than explain it away
If Ghanaians can learn from Nike's signature motto: Just do it,
We will perhaps have more to celebrate come 6th March of every year.
We could be celebrating economic independence - our last battle.
