Just like setting up any structure, the foundation is important and so it is when it comes to the application of makeup.
Many a time, make up tends to look sweaty and shiny on the face leaving anot too pleasant look. The solution to this is creating a perfect face foundation for the application of makeup products; this is where the foundation and concealer come to play.
Although some ladies prefer to use a compressed powder straight away, applying a foundation and concealer helps to even the facial skin, smoothen the pores and allows the make up to stay longer on the face.
Here are some steps for creating a face canvas for a flawless look.
- A clean face and hands are essential in applying makeup. The skin on the face is delicate and any contact with bacteria could cause pimples and irritation. Wash the face with face soap and water where possible or clean with facial wipes to rid the face off dirt and dust.Pour a small quantity of toner into cotton and wipe on the face for an extra clean face and conditioned skin.
- Make up products are dermatologically tested and safe for the skin, however it is important to apply a moisturizer before applying any makeup on the face. This nourishes and protects the skin and allows the make up to look natural. An oil defense serum is often advisable as it guards against sweaty face and allows the makeup to glide on perfectly.
- Apply your primer with focus on the nose, the chin, the cheek and the skin beneath the eyes. Allow the primer to dry for two minutes before applying the concealer. The primer is important as it creates the perfect base for your foundation and prevents a crack up in oily areas of the face.
- Apply your concealer with focus mainly on the skin under the eyes to conceal dark spots and on areas with blemishes. The concealer need not be spread on the face but it must be such that dark areas are masked to blend in perfectly with the rest of the face. It may be applied also on the eye lids to serve as a holding for the eye shadow.
- Aside creating the perfect surface for the makeup artist, foundation smoothens the skin, fills in the pores and allows the make up last longer. Apply your foundation with a wedge or sponge (be sure it is clean) or gently massage unto skin with the hand until an even look is achieved.
- Dust your face gently with powder and you are good to go. With your flawless face canvas ready, you can go ahead and apply other makeup products on the face.
