Aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has underscored the need for the party to restructure its membership procedures to make it easier for people to join.
According to him, politics is about numbers and thus making the registration process cumbersome will be inimical to the party's growth.
Kwabena Agyepong expressed this sentiment while addressing constituency executives at Obuasi in the Ashanti region as part of his tour of the region.
The aspiring General Secretary reiterated his commitment of making the grassroots an integral part of the NPP because “the foundation of our party is our members”.
He said if given the nod, “I want to make the cards affordable and accessible at the base of the party to ensure that every Ghanaian who identifies with our tradition has access to it”.
Kwabena Agyepong said NPP is the only true national party with its members as major stakeholders thus the need to reach out to all with our message of transforming the Ghanaian economy to continue the good programs President John Kufour put in place.”
He has so far visited the Manso Edubia, Manso Nkwanta, Odotobri, Akrofuom, Obuasi West and East constituencies of the Ashanti region.
