Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has launched a "text and win" promotion designed to raise funds to sponsor supporters to Brazil to cheer the Black Stars, at the World Cup.
He said the promotion would aid many supporters to travel to Brazil to support the stars since the Government, was not ready to sponsor football fans to the competition.
As we all know government made it clear, it was not in a position to sponsor supporters to Brazil for the World Cup, but we cannot do away with supporters, since "they play a vital role in football hence corporate entities including SIC, GCB, ADB, Zenith Bank and others have decided to provide financial support to us to support the campaign.
But these companies alone cannot do it. It is with this view that we have initiated this promotion so that we can take more supporters to Brazil to support the Black Stars. We have to txt SCORE to 1474 and a draw will be held after which the winner would be sent to Brazil.
If we are able to raise an appreciable amount from the promotion we would be able to take more supporters to Brazil for the upcoming World Cup."
He added that, amazing prizes including FIAT car, tablet, smart phones and airtime will be given to the lucky winners weekly.
