A Hearts of Oak fan in the Brong Ahafo Region is reported to have died soon after news got to him that his dear club, Hearts of Oak had lost to Kpando Heart of Lions.
The Hearts fan, (name withheld) died after he expressed shock at the defeat to Lions in Accra on Sunday.
Heart of Lions beat Accra Hearts of Oak 2-1 in Accra in a week-24 fixture to move to second place in the standings of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League Competition.
His death has angered Hearts fans in the Brong Ahafo Region especially in Berekum and led by their Public Relations Officer, Nana Takyi they have threatened to attack the Hearts Board Chairman, Togbe Afede, Managing Director Neil Armstrong and NCC Chairman Alhaji Akambi if they should appear at the Berekum Park when Hearts play Berekum Chelsea in a week-25 fixture.
Nana Takyi said in his interview that “The death of our brother has really come as a big blow to us as Hearts fans. We have no doubt that it was caused by the poor play of the team which was necessitated by the sacking of David Duncan. We are blaming the Board Chairman and MD for this calamity and we will make sure that they will pay dearly for it”.
“We have issued a warning to the Board Chairman, the MD and NCC Chairman not to show up at Berekum or we will surely attack them”.
