The decision of the Match Review Panel to ban referee E.R. Biney for his performance during the recent match between Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions has been accepted by the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
Kotoko who lost the game 1-0 reported the referee to the Referees review panel for denying them two penalty appeals during game.
After a careful study of the report by the Match Review Panel, the Executive Committee decided as follows:
1. That referee E. R. Biney denied Kumasi Asante Kotoko a penalty-award when Isaac Boakye was fouled in the Heart of Lions penalty area in the first half.
2. That general referee E. R. Biney’s performance during the match was unsatisfactory.
Consequently the Executive Committee decided to uphold the recommendation that referee E. R. Biney be sanctioned from refereeing four consecutive GFA sanctioned matches with effect from April 16, 2014.
