The CEO of Koans Estates Limited, Kofi Anokye, has dismissed allegations he is using land guards to terrorize land owners in Kuntunse, a suburb of Accra.
Mr. Anokye told Joy News' Dzifa Bampoh the allegations are unfounded.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is investigating Mr. Anokye for allegedly engaging the services of land guards to terrorize landowners and also demolishing many structures of other home owners.
Landowners in the area say several complaints made to the police have not yielded any successful result.
The Kuntunse Kpakpo-Allotey landowners Association wants the CID to get to the bottom of the issue.
Stephen Folivi, leader of the Association, told Joy News their structures had been destroyed by the land guards employed by Mr. Anokye and hoped the police would be able to come to their aid.
Public Relations Officer of the CID, ASP Benefo Darkwa told Joy News' Kwakye Afreh-Nuamah the department is looking into the matter.
He said the police have written to the Lands Commission to find out who actually owned the land.
That is all part of investigations into the matter, he indicated.
In a reaction, however, the CEO of Koans Estate, Kofi Anokye, denied allegations he had employed the services of land guards.
He stated that he has employed between 25-30 security guards, some of whom go on night patrols.
Such guards, he indicated, only protects the interest of his company, saying, "nobody can get into the estate and do whatever he likes."
