Great Olympics and Tema Youth recorded wins in zone 3 of Ghana’s promotional play-offs on Saturday.
Olympics managed a hard-flight 2-1 win over Istanbul at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi to bag three points while Tema Youth accounted for Okwahu United 2-1 in Obuasi.
Olympics opened the scoring early in the second half but Istanbul responded quickly with the equalizer coming from the boot of Eric Agyei.
The Accra-based stepped up their game and scored the match winner against the run of play.
Istanbul officials went berserk after accusing referee Yaw Ametepey of bias officiating.
Istanbul, based at Akyem Techiman, enjoyed massive support from the Kumasi fans but failed to reward them after stuttering to defeat in their opening game.
In the other fixture of the group, Tema Youth came from behind to beat Okwahu United 2-1 at the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi.
Okwahu opened the scoring before Tema Youth equalized to end the first half.
But Tema Youth came back from recess strongly and registered the match winner in Obuasi.
