Over 50 Multi-TV digi boxes have been given out for free to hairdressers in Accra especially in Teshie, Dansoman and surrounding areas.
The move, according to managers of MultiTV, is a response to the growing demands by viewers who do not want to miss a single episode of some of Multi TV's breathtaking Telenovelas they have been watching at home, especially La Patrona.
Some of the viewers claim because they do not have the digiboxes in their offices or salons they are unable to watch their favourite MultiTV programmes, especially the Telenovelas in the office even though they do not miss such programmes when they are at home.
MultiTV has therefore decided to make the digi-boxes available to some owners of hairdressing salons in parts of the capital so that their patrons will continue to enjoy La Patrona and other favourite programmes outside their homes.
Asked why salons are the preferred business to benefit from digi-box donation, an official of Multi-TV Sabatina Vanderpuye said salons, are most often the hub where women argue and discuss the twist and turns of the sizzling Telenovelas.
She said the action by MultiTV is also to build the excitement that comes with watching Lapatrona and the other interesting programmes on MultiTV.
The move is also to increase viewership, she noted.
Vanderpuye said the selection criterion for the donation is that the salon must be well patronised.
Already, beneficiaries are enthralled by the gesture by MultiTV and have promised to continue enjoying their favourite programmes.
Sabatina Vanderpuye said the company is looking ahead to distributing more digi-boxes to the salons in Accra.
The Multi-TV digi-box is selling for only 220.00 cedis.
