Residents of Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya District are struggling to come to terms with sighting a lifeless body of a woman at a river bank in the area, following a heavy downpour last night.
The body of the unidentified victim, aged about 35 years, was spotted on the Asuoyeboah River bank by residents early Wednesday.
Augustina Ahenkan, the lady, who first found the body in a blouse over black shorts, said she thought the lifeless body of the unidentified woman was a doll.
Almost all the lifeless body of the woman was covered in mud, with only a section of her shaved head showing.
Madam Ahenkan told Nhyira FM the deceased is unknown in the area, adding that she might have been dragged downstream after the heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the Abuakwa police are appealing for public support as they try to locate relatives of the deceased.
District Crime Officer, ASP Jeremiah Alale, told Nhyira News the body has been deposited at the Nkawie Government Hospital morgue.
