About 150 golfers have lined up to battle for the prestigious Asantehene Open Golf Championship at the Royal Golf Course in Kumasi which begins on Saturday, May 31 and to end on Sunday, June 1.
Mr B. B. Appiah, Captain of the Royal Golf Club of Kumasi said the championship which would be played under the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Royal Golf Club, is being sponsored by Guinness Breweries Ghana Limited.
Entry requirement for the competition, which is open to golfers from Ghana and other African countries, is Handicap 18 and 24 respectively.
The two-day Scratch event, which would be played alongside Handicap 20, would witness crack golfers like George Lee Mensah and Sarpong Peprah, both of the Takoradi Golf Club.
Other players expected to be seen in action include Mike Ezan, Wisdom Asempah, Dan Dennis and Mike Aggrey, all of the Achimota Golf Club.
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu the Second would be the Special Guest of Honour.
