Five final-year students from University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have presented a computer and its accessories worth 500 Ghana cedis to authorities of Agona Swedru School for the Deaf. Mr Thomas Adongo, Spokesman of the students who undertook their internship at the school, made the presentation at a send-off party organized for them at Agona Swedru. He said it was in appreciation to the hospitality accorded them by the school authorities during their nine months stay and also to enhance the teaching and learning of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT). Mr Adongo appealed to the public to accord persons with disabilities the due respect as members of the society and assist them to acquire skills to earn a living. Mrs Lucy Turkson, Assistant Headmistress, who received the items, expressed appreciation to the students and assured them that they would be well utilised for ICT training. Source: GNA
