Defeated Ayittey Powers has apologized to his fans for his disappointing showcase with Bukom Banku last Thursday at the Accra stadium.
Bukom Banku won a 12-round unanimous decision over rival Ayittey Powers to run his perfect record to 27-0 in a non-title “Judgement Day” bout.
Powers who before the bout assured his fans of victory over Banku has rendered an unqualified apology to the many fans he disappointed on the night
“I just want to apologize to my fans because I wasn’t expecting something like this myself, went in there to win but only God knows what happened,” he exclusively told Joy fm
“I’m begging all of them, we should give everything to God because he knows best but I promise to bounce back again.
Ahead of the bout there were issues with Bukom Banko over weighing the required weight for their division.
According to Powers that was one of the many reasons that accounted to his loss and would want a rematch with Brimah Kamoko.
“This guy (Bukom Banku) has to fight me again, I have to fight this boy for the correct cruiser weight, they have to do the correct weight so we can fight again,”
“This guy was using his weight and if he had come down to my weight I would have finished him. Initially when he over weighed I didn’t want to fight but people might think I’m afraid that’s why I went to fight.
“I’m very disappointed but all the same I give thanks to God and I know I will come back so strong.”
The proposed rematch is likely to be staged in the Garden City if the two camps agree on the bout.
