Black Stars defender Jeffery Schlupp says he is aware of the pressure that comes with playing for the team and has stated he is ready to live up to the billing if selected into the final 23 squad for next month’s World Cup.
Schlupp joined the rest of the team to train at the Accra stadium as they continue with preparations ahead of the tournament.
The 21-year-old striker-turned-left-back in an exclusive chat with Joy fm noted that he is happy to have made the squad and ready for the challenge ahead.
“I was very happy of course we had a good season back at Leicester in England and the call up just topped up what was a good season for me,” said Schlupp
“I just take each step as it comes so whatever happens I’m up for it, I was born to play football so I’m ready for any challenge.
“It feels good to join this team because last time I came in 2011 this squad has got a lot of familiar faces so is now up to me to make friends with the people I didn’t know the last time I was invited.
