A nineteen member contingent of the Zogbeli L/A primary School arrived in Accra from Tamale yesterday to begin camping ahead of the Milo U-13 African Championship in Lagos Nigeria.
The Zogbeli L /A Primary School is representing Ghana at the biennial tournament this year after beating Fawohoyeden Primary school in the Finals to emerge champions of the National Milo U-13 Championship held in Kumasi in March this year.
The contingent made up of 16 players, 2 coaches and the headmaster of the school were met on arrival at the Kotoka Int. Airport by some officials of Nestle Ghana Limited who are sponsors of the Championship.
The team held their first training session at the St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School Park later in the evening in the presence of Nestle officials and technical director of the Ghana Football Association Francis Oti Akenteng.
Speaking to the team after training, Mr. Olufemi Akintola, Category Business Manager for Nestle Ghana Limited charged the kids to always remember some key attributes which would make them Champions of Africa.
“The most important things you can get from this competition are those values that you learn from sports, which are what Milo is always trying to do; they are discipline, Confidence, determination and above all, team work. Without team work you can’t do anything, your individual power, your individual strength, your individual talent will not win you the trophy” He said.
