President John Mahama has delivered an inspiring message to the Black Stars minutes before kick off in their World Cup match against Germany.
The Black Stars head into the crucial Group G clash in Fortaleza needing to avoid defeat to keep their chance of qualifying to the second round alive.
John Mahama tasked the team to ensure victory in his 3-minute message to the team.
"On behalf of all 25 million Ghanaians, I wish you luck, The almighty God is behind you," the President said on Saturday.
"In you last game, you lost narrowly, you played a very good game but you lost narrowly.
"Football is about goals, you can play beautifully but we need to put the ball in the net. As you can see this current World Cup is full of surprises. Black Stars is a formidable team and we know our opponents, Germany are also a for formidable team, we are not underrating them but I want to assure you that you can beat Germany.
"Remember to play to the whistle. The last time, the Americans took advantage of the first few minutes where we were unsettled after the match had started, the game is from the first whistle to the final whistle. During that period, never let your guard down. Be on full alert, go out and get the goals and defend our goalpost and never let any ball go into it.
"We are all confident that you are going to qualify, you are not coming back home, by the grace of God, you are not coming back home. You are staying there, you are qualifying and you are coming back home with that Cup. Our morale is high here in Ghana and I am sure the team's morale is also very high. I am in my red t-shirt and after this message I am going to sit in front of my television as almost all Ghanaians are going do this evening and remember that all of us are behind you hundred percent, God be with you."
