Premiership debutants, Tema Youth on Saturday forced a bitter pill down the throat of Accra Hearts of Oak with a 1-0 defeat when the two sides clashed at the Carl Reindof Park, Dansoman in Accra. The league leaders who for once were ordinary against the visitors made their victory certain through a first minute goal scored by petit Ekow Banson.Skilful Benson was gifted from a defensive mix up initiated by Hearts Joseph Tachie Mensah to send a low grounder past goalkeeper Sulemana Abubakar to ensure the debutants go into the history books as the only team to have beaten the country's two most glamorous clubs, Hearts and Kumasi Asante Kotoko this season. The Phobians lacked quality and shine to produce the equalizer even though the Tema Youth lads were themselves not extraordinary in their output.Hearts conceded the midfield from the onset with their only flash of brilliance coming from Francis Bossma's killer half volley on the 27minute mark that brought out the best in the visiting goalkeeper, Joseph Mensah. The game from then was evenly fought with Hearts putting up all strategies to at least split the points but the able defence of Tema Youth held the attackers at bay until the final whistle to leave the distraught Hearts supporters on their seats for a long period.GNA
