The flag-bearer of the Convention People’s Party says politics is not a contest of "might and muscle" as the two leading political parties in the country seem portray it.
Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom has also condemned the reported acts of indiscipline which has bedevilled the ongoing voter registration exercise.
He said leaders of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NDC) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) must call their supporters to order and stop presenting minors for registration.
At a news conference at Elmina, Dr Nduom said politics is a contest of ideas and solutions and not of might and muscle.
The CPP flag-bearer said the two parties to have been behind the registration of minors meant they doubted the credibility of the Electoral Commission (EC).
“I want to condemn the overly-aggressive posture of the NDC and the NPP that appears to have brought the credibility of the EC into contempt in Ghana,” he stated.
Dr Ndoum said the current trend characterising the programme could derail the smooth build-up of the country’s young democracy.
He said Ghanaians must judge candidates by their performances in various offices they (candidate) has served in government and by propagated and “sweetened” political communication.
