Hearts of Oak will kick off the GHALCA Top Four competition against rivals Asante Kotoko on August 24.
The Phobians will be at home to last season’s double winners at the Accra Sports Stadium on the opening day.
This was revealed following the media launch of the pre-season competition in Accra on Wednesday.
GHALCA chairman Alhaji Ali Raji says his organizing body is determined to revive the dwindling fortunes of their flagship product starting with the upcoming edition.
“The GHALCA Top Four is reborn and we are determined to ensure it regains the excitement it noted for,” he said.
“We have a master plan to ginger the spectatoring of the Top Four.
“Our executive committee members will be embarking on a campaign to whip up support for the tournament in all the venues starting from tomorrow.
“We will from tomorrow name our various committees to be tasked with various roles to ensure the competition is a success.”
AshantiGold will be hosting Heart of Lions in Obuasi also on the opening day.
The competition is a pre-season tournament that draws participation from the top four finishers of the previous Premier League campaign.
This year’s competition will be played across three venues – Baba Yara, Len Clay and Accra Sports Stadium.
There is however an innovative twist to this year’s format.
The top two finishers after the all-play-all stage will compete for the giant trophy which according GHALCA Alhaji Raji arrived from Italy.
