A member of the Ghana Football Association Kofi Manu is claiming head coach Kwasi Appiah has settled on veteran coach Ben Cuofie as his technical advisor but the FA has kicked against his decision.
According to him the FA says Mr Cuofie is too old to man that sensitive position.
Mr Manu, popularly called blue blue was speaking on Joy FM's Sports Link programme Saturday. The FA is not immediately available for comment.
'Blue Blue' was contributing to the discussion on the hunt for a new technical advisor to assist coach Kwasi Appiah.
Mr Manu was surprised at the alleged claim by the FA that Mr Ben Cuofie is old.
He explained Mr Cuofie is currently the one training all the coaches in Ghana and wondered why, with his age he could act as technical advisor to the FA, and not be able to act as an advisor to the Black Stars' head coach.
He said the decision by the FA to reject Appiah's choice of advisor was wrong, adding "it is wrong to impose an advisor on the coach."
He was even shocked why the FA would even contemplate changing a coach who qualified the Black Stars to the World Cup scoring 26 goals in six matches and conceding just six.
Ace Sports Journalist Christopher Opoku who was also on the show said appointing a technical advisor for Appiah is a looming disaster for the Black Stars.
He would rather the FA sticks with Appiah as the coach or sack him and appoint a new one.
The idea to bring a technical advisor is misconceived.
