Black Stars have swooped to line up a friendly against Tunisia later this month after Paraguay snubbed a proposed game following delays by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).The South American World Cup qualifying group leaders pulled out of the friendly because the GFA failed to confirm the game in time.
The GFA made desperate last minute calls to be able to convince the Carthage Eagles to play the Black Stars on 19 November in Accra.
This means Tunisia have snubbed their friendly against Benin, Ghana’s Group Four opponents in World Cup qualifiers, which was scheduled for the same day in Tunis.
The home game for the Black Stars will serve as the preparation for the start of the second phase of the World Cup qualifiers as well as unite country in the wake of the tension ahead of the general elections in December.
The two countries last month sealed their places in the final phase of the qualifiers of the tournament to be held in South Africa.
Tunisia coach Humberto Coelho is keen on using the opportunity available to bring together his strongest squad.
"The key is to prepare for this important competition and be focused, serious and united in every game to win points, because our main goal is to qualify for World Cup" Coelho said.
The Carthage Eagles have been drawn in Group B with Nigeria, Kenya and Mozambique.
