Asante Kotoko have been slapped with a two-match home ban and a US$ 15,000 fine by Caf after troubles marred their Confederation Cup match against Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel early last month.Fans of the club physically assaulted Africa's top referee Coffie Codjia after the 2-2 draw game in Kumasi.Caf's reaction was anticipated by the reconstituted discpilinary committee under South African Raymond Hack which has been proactive in recent times. This means the Porcupine Warriors will play the preliminary qualifying round matches of next year's Champions League away from the Baba Yara Stadium.Kotoko's Director of Operations, Jerry Asare, is said to have escaped a Caf ban after the Beninios referee claimed in his report that the former incited the crowd to attack him." We're unware by this for now. The letter is at GFA and we will receive it later. If need be we'll appeal," Spokesperson, Kwame Baah-Nuakoh told Ghanasoccernet.comIf Kotoko's appeal is upheld, it is believed matches will be shifted to the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.Source: Ghanasoccernet
