Asante Kotoko have agreed a two-year deal with Belgian coach Maurice Cooreman to take-over as its head coach.
The 65-year-old who reached a deal with the Porcupine Warriors has been tasked to qualify the team to Group stage of next year's Caf Champions League.
The former coach of Nigerian side Enyimba inherits a squad built by his predecessor Bashiru Hayford whose contract expires in January next year.
"We know of his abilities and as such we have tasked him to bring laurels to the team. His first task is to build a formidable squad for the league," Kotoko chairman Sylvester Asare-Owusu told Ghanasoccernet.com
"This coach has the pedigree and a big team like Kotoko needs a coach of his calibre.
“For the first time, that the out-going coach will stay on until his contract expires in two months,'' he added.
“This is to allow a smooth transitional process for the new man. We hope the supporters will understand this because we want the best for the club."
The future of Hayford with Kotoko remains a mystery even though he is rumoured to be on his way to new boys Bechem Chelsea.Source: Ghanasoccernet
