Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe is returning home after failing on trials with Danish side Odense. The star of the Ghanaian league failed to make an impact with the league leaders of the Scandinavian country during his one-week stay.
According reports in the Denmark, Bekoe failed to cope with the severe winter condition as well as the physical aspect of the game which prompted his departure.
The striker had initially insisted on not taking part on a trial, claiming he deserves a contract without being observed closely by European clubs.
It is a major setback for Bekoe who will face major competition for a starting place in Kotoko if he returns as the Porcupine Warriors have signed more strikers including Louis Agyemang.
Ghanasoccernet understands that Bekoe will turn his attention to landing a deal with Egyptian side Zamalek who had expressed interest in his services.
Bekoe capped a fine season, in which he scored 27 goals for Kotoko in all competitions, with a call-up to the senior national team. The forward claims he turned down a trial with German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, insisting he should not prove his ability to clubs in Europe.Source: Ghanasoccernet
