The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is likely to lose five of the eight Parliamentary seats it is currently holding the Northern Region to the NDC.
These seats include Kyereponi, Damango-Daboya, Gushiegu, Nalerigu and Wulensi.
Poll watcher and election analyst Ben Ephson said this on Joy FM’s programme, Ephson’s Election File.
Two other seats, Salaga and Yendi, he said, are too close to call.
He said the situation was caused not by a better campaign by the NDC but as a result of internal bickering by members of NPP.
According to him, an independent Parliamentary candidate contesting the Yendi seat is a member of the NPP and is likely to cause problems for the incumbent MP, Malik Alhassan Yakubu.
Mr. Ephson said another pro-NPP group is seriously working against Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Saddique, who is the incumbent MP for Salaga.
Touching on the Upper West Region, he said the NPP will retain the Wa East while the Sissala West, which is being held by the PNC will go to the NDC.
But the PNC will retain the Sissala East.
The number of votes in the Upper West region according to Mr. Ephson is less than the votes of Weija and Ablekuma South in the Greater Accra Region.
