Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has vowed that experienced Togostriker Emmanuel Adebayor can’t stop the Black Stars when the two sides clash in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier next week.
The Tottenham attacker rushed his return to the Hawks in time to face Ghana in their second Group G matches of the qualifiers of the tournament to be played in Morocco early next year.
Adebayor, who lives permanently in Ghana, looks to have made a u-turn on his international retirement just to ensure that he plays and scores against his adopted country to own the bragging rights over his Ghanaian friends.
Several players in the Black Stars squad are also close friends of the Ghana international and his availability for Togo has sparked talk in some quarters that the Black Stars are scared of the England-based striker.
However, goalkeeper Dauda says despite the mutual respect between players of the two countries, Adebayor will not be able to stop the Black Stars from their ambitions of wining the match in Lome.
“Who says we are scared of Adebayor?,” South Africa-based goalkeeper Dauda said when asked about news of Adebayor’s return to the Togo fold.
“I don’t think we are though I must admit we all have respect for him. I am sure he has respect for us as well so for me it will be a game of equals though we expect to win” Fatau added.
Ghana will also play Uganda and Guinea in Group G of the qualifiers for the tournament in be held in Morocco.
