Kostadin Papic has resigned as head coach of Chippa United with immediate effect, Goal can exclusively confirm.
Speaking to Goal after a long meeting with the club on Wednesday afternoon, Papic said that he resigned because he didn't want anyone interfere with his job.
"Yes I have resigned," Papic told Goal. "It's not true that I was unhappy at Chippa, but the reason for me to resign is that I didn't want the new technical director to interfere with my job," he added.
The Chilli Boys were reportedly set to announce Mich D'Avray as their new technical director in the next few days, and this didn't sit well with Papic.
He joined the Port Elizabeth-based side before the start of the campaign from Black Leopards, but he finds himself without a job five games into the season.
Papic, who coached both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs in the past, is said to be heading back to Limpopo to take over the reigns at Polokwane City.
City are without a coach after firing Boebie Solomons on Monday morning, and although the club revealed that they won't be appointing anyone new soon, they are reportedly eyeing Papic.
