The Ashanti regional minister Samuel Sarpong has confirmed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports(MOYS) has decided not to charge gate fees for Ghana's AFCON qualifier against Uganda on Saturday,September 5.
The cold reception received by the team in Kumasi and a general apathy towards ticket sales is believed to be the brain behind the directive to the National Sports Authority(NSA) to open free gates.
Mr.Sarpong confirmed the decision to journalists Kumasi.
The relationship between the Black Stars and the fans of the team has hit an all time low following the team's behaviour during the world cup in Brazil and some of the players have used the time in Kumasi to make amends for the team's exit.
The opening of the gate will ensure that the stadium will be packed to the rafters that will also intimidate the Cranes of Uganda
