Reports are that Serbian trainer Milovan Rajavac is expected to arrive in Ghana on Monday night to negotiate with the Ghana FA as technical advisor for the Black Stars.
Rajavac is to discuss issues relating to his salary and conditions of service for the number of years he will be contracted by the Football Association.
The 60-year-old has been shortlisted by a three-man committee to assist head coach Kwesi Appiah.
But the former Qatar national team boss faces competition from Danish coach Flemming Serritslev.
He had a successful two-year spell and led the Black Stars to win silver at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and reach the last eight at the World Cup finals in South Africa that same year.
Ghana have made a jerky start in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers by drawing 1-1 with Uganda at home in their opener.
