The Confederation of African Football's (CAF) has announced, hosting rights for the 2019, 2021 and 2023 editions of the AFCON tournament have been awarded to Cameroun, Cote d'Ivoire and Guinea respectively.
The Executive Council of the continent's football governing body announced the decision Saturday, at the African Union (AU) Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethipia.
On the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, CAF Secretary General, Hicham El Amrani said the Association has maintained its position to ban CAF matches in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, the countries hit most by the deadly virus.
Ghana and Algeria could battle it to host the 2017 edition of the tournament which will be announced in January, 2015.
Meanwhile, the Executive body of CAF has unanimously agreed to support Joseph Sepp Blatter in his bid for a 5th term as FIFA president at the next FIFA elective assembly in 2015.
