A High Court in the Central regional capital Cape Coast, has sentenced the District Chief Executive of Twifo Praso, Bossman Osei Hyeama, to two weeks' imprisonment for contempt.
The DCE was convicted Monday, for insulting the High Court Judge and the bailiff of the court.
He will serve the time at the Ankaful Prisons, Joy News’ Correspondet Richard Kwadwo Nyarko said.
Richard explains that the DCE became unhappy with an injunction the Cape Coast High Court placed on a demolition exercise of the Twifo Praso market sometime last year.
The furious DCE, who was convinced the High Court Judge has been compromised is reported to have called the judge corrupt.
Mr Osei Hyeaman also hurled his shoe at the bailiff of the court during an altercation in the courtroom.
After his two-week jail term, he will come back to answer contempt charges against him.
