Two supporters of National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been admitted at Wa Regional Hospital following severe injuries they sustained when celebrating the Party’s victory in the Presidential Election Run-off.
An eye-witness account said Sahada Kassim 20, and Salam Sherrif 18, riding motorbikes from different directions allegedly crashed head-on at the Zongo-Konate Lodge intersection.
A source at the Police Motor, Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) at Wa told Ghana News Agency that the accident had been reported to the police and the new unregistered SUKIDA motorbike ridden by Kassim and completely damaged was parked at the MTTU office.
When GNA visited the casualty ward the accident was confirmed and health personnel were busy attending to Sherrif.
Efforts by GNA to contact leadership of the Party at Wa could not yield any results as the Upper West Regional Office was besieged by supporters making it impossible to get them.
However, the jubilation continued along the principal streets of Wa Municipality amidst tight security until the night when most of them retired to their homes.
