The General Overseer of Open Arms Ministries, Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie has officially lodged a complaint with the National Media Commission (NMC) against OTEC Fm, Kumasi-based radio station over the conduct of the station's management.
A petition dated October 1, 2014 and filed at the Kumasi office of the NMC, Apostle Nkansah-Sarkodie said the station cancel his evangelism programme, dubbed 'Bra Ma Yenko Heaven despite a contractual agreement between the parties for him to broadcast.
According to him, he had broadcast his programme which airs every Sunday from 1:30pm to 2:00pm to many listeners in Kumasi and its environs for the past three years.
The man of God stated that on June 29,2014 he received a letter from management of OTEC signed by one Kate Freeman Adomako, Head of Programmes that he (pastor) had been banned from using the station's network to preach against the Jehovah Witness.
He explained that in May this year, he started a six-week programme on the Jehovah Witness sect.
Apostle Nkansah- Sarkodie indicated that in one of his teachings he pointed out that members of JW sect do not believe in the core doctrines of Christianity.
He further stated that Jehovah Witnesses do not also believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ and that JW was founded by one Charles Russel, who rewrote the Bible to suit his desire.
The petitioner said he raised concern about the activities of JW which he said was banned in Ghana in the tenure of the Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC).
The petitioner called on, the NMC to intervene in the matter to stop the arbitrariness of the radio station.
He said there had not been any complaint • against him by any member of Jehovah Witness to warrant such an action.
